In 2024, we helped the Abahuje cooperative (Rwanda) to carry out actions to support employment for the women of this rural cooperative.
We developed a project to create a community centre for listening, counselling and maternal care for girl mothers and women who are victims of gender-based violence.
The sustainability of the project is ensured by the involvement, in its management and implementation, of the women and men of the cooperative, but also of the community and neighbouring organisations.
Its self-financing is partly guaranteed by the rearing of pigs and the creation of bio-intensive kitchen gardens.
In addition to its objective of economic and social reintegration of girl mothers and vulnerable women, the project aims, through awareness-raising and training programmes, to combat child malnutrition and gender-based violence, and to promote family planning and sexual and reproductive rights.
